Fund Raising
While the primary purpose of this ride is to assist the United Way of Oshawa Whitby Clarington Brock & Scugog, it is not mandatory that riders raise pledges over and above the registration fee of $50This being said, it is our hope that as many riders as possible will understand how seriously the global economic situation has impacted this area, and how valuable the services provided with United Way assistance are to the entire community.
We have a number of prizes and incentives in place to encourage your fundraising:
- Riders who raise $250 in pledges, will receive a $50 registration rebate
- Riders who raise $1000 or more in pledges, will be entered into a draw for a fabulous GIANT bike
- Any donor who pledges $20 or more will receive a charitable tax receipt and have their name entered into a draw for a prize (details to come)
The web site is set up to make it as easy as possible for you to fundraise. We encourage you to use the site, or download pledge forms which you may take around to friends, family and business associates. Many people find this easier and more effective.
We know that the majority of fundraisers will do it because they believe that by helping others they in turn, receive more than they gave.
